PSHE
The health, well-being and personal development of our children are amongst our highest priorities, and are a key part of our school's values. They underpin all we do to help our pupils develop into well-rounded and fulfilled individuals. It also recognises that social, physical and emotional health forms the essential foundation for successful learning. It forms an essential foundation for successful learning.
PSHE at The Ursuline Preparatory School Ilford follows the Jigsaw scheme of work. We also devote a great deal of time outside PSHE lessons to the pastoral needs of our pupils. Our PSHE curriculum aims to develop confidence and responsibility and to prepare each child to play an active role in society and be responsible citizens, who enjoy healthy and safe lifestyles.
We follow the diocese approved Relationships and Sex Education scheme called 'Journey in Love'. Pupils from Reception to Year 6 learn about the social and emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of their development in a child friendly manner. New parents and parents of Years 5 & 6 are invited to a meeting prior to the lessons to be advised on the content of the lessons and to provide reassurance.
